Unclear on the Concept

I have friends who I share a practice space with. We split our rent 3 ways. It works out well b/c my band is a four piece. SAVE'em!

One of the bands I share the space with is leaving on a month long tour. While they're gone, and I just learned this last night, they plan on "sub-leasing" their side of the practice room to their friends. They just TOLD us this. No asking, no courtesy call before the deal was done, nothing.

Needless to say, myself and the other guys in the band became pretty upset. It's one thing if you bring your friends to a shared practice space to hang out and jam; that's a different story. BUT, when you cut side deals with people and put your space-mates' gear in jeopardy of randoms, that's a little shady, disrespectful, and a bit arrogant.

I said this to my friends through text messages. Well, not in so many words, but they got the jist of it, right? RIGHT?!?

This is how I now communicate with people, through online emails, texts, facebook, twitter, etc. and I'm a little unclear on concept. Specifically, how is all of this connection meant to make me feel connected? Is it just me, or does anyone else feel alone? I guess it's just me.
