New Year, New Me 2013

I don't think anyone's new year's resolution this year was to put down their cell phones. Is it even appropriate to still call them cell phones? Now they're "smart" phones, as is if to subtly allude to them having some sort of intelligence. Do they? Would they beat me in an IQ test? Most likely.

In real life, I've become more and more attached to the net. I'm constantly connected, but completely disconnected from the world around me. I've become sucked into a place I'd rather be, an idea I'd rather think about, a joke I'd rather laugh about.

However, all of that is meaningless if it doesn't actually happen. If the memory isn't seared into my brain though me actually experiencing it, then how could I ever begin to understand? I can't. So instead I remain seated, barely blinking and pretending I have a life. How's that for holiday cheer?!
